Sir William Edmund Pole, 9th Baronet (July 1816 - March 21, 1895 ) was a British nobleman .

William Pole came from the Pole family , a family of the gentry of Devon . He was the eldest son of Sir William Pole, 7th Baronet from his second marriage to Charlotte Fraser . Pole studied from 1833 at Christ Church College , Oxford, where he graduated as a bachelor's degree in 1837 and a master's degree in 1840. He was then admitted to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in London in 1841 . When his older half-brother, Sir John Reeve de la Pole, 8th Baronet, died in 1874 without male heirs, he inherited the Shute House family estate and the title of Baronet , of Shute House in the County of Devon.

Pole had married Margaret Victoriosa Talbot , a daughter of Admiral Sir John Talbot and his wife Juliana Arundel , on April 26, 1841 . He had several children with her, including
