Dhiravat Bhumichitr

Dhiravat Bhumichitr (born December 7, 1960 ) is a Thai diplomat . He has been the Thai ambassador to Germany since 2016 .

He studied history at the University of Geneva , where he graduated with a doctorate.

Diplomatic career

His diplomatic career began in 1991 in the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs , first as attaché, then third secretary, second secretary and first secretary in the Department of East Asian Affairs. From 1994 to 1995 he was an interpreter of Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai . He had his first assignment abroad in Germany. From 1996 to 1999 he was First Secretary at the Thai Embassy in Bonn , after which he returned to the Thai Foreign Ministry, for example from 2004 to 2005 as an advisor in the office of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra . From 2012 to 2015 he was director of the Ministry's Foreign Relations Institute , the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, named after Devawongse Varopakar .

Dhiravat Bhumichitr has been Thailand's ambassador in Berlin since August 29, 2016.
