Coordinates: 34 ° 51 ′ S , 138 ° 30 ′ E The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . Port Adelaide Enfield is part of the metropolis Adelaide , the capital of South Australia. The area is 92 km² and has about 121,000 inhabitants (2016).
Port Adelaide Enfield is located north and northwest of downtown Adelaide and forms the southern end of the Barker Inlet. The area includes 51 neighborhoods: Alberton, Angle Park, Birkenhead, Blair Athol, Broadview, Clearview, Croydon Park, Dernancourt, Devon Park, Dry Creek , Dudley Park, Enfield, Ethelton, Exeter, Ferryden Park, Gepps Cross, Gilles Plains, Gillman , Glanville, Greenacres, Hampstead Gardens, Hillcrest, Holden Hill, Kilburn, Klemzig, Largs Bay, Largs North, Manningham, Mansfield Park, Northfield, Northgate, North Haven, Oakden, Osborne, Ottoway, Outer Harbor, Peterhead, Port Adelaide, Queenstown , Regency Park, Rosewater, Sefton Park, Semaphore, Semaphore South, Taperoo, Valley View, Walkleys Heights, Windsor Gardens, Wingfield and Woodville Gardens. The council's administrative headquarters are in the Port Adelaide district to the west of the LGA.
The North Arm powder magazine was located in Gillman near Port Adelaide on the North Arm of the Port River just nine meters from the North Arm Bridge .

The Port Adelaide Enfield City Council has 18 members, 17 councilors are elected by the residents of the seven wards (two each from Klemzig, Outer Harbor, Port Adelaide and Semaphore Ward, three each from Enfield, Northfield, Parks Ward). These seven districts are determined independently of the districts. The council chairman and mayor (mayor) is also elected by all residents of the city.
