Brigitte Meyer
Brigitte Meyer (born December 24, 1947 in Bayreuth ) is a Bavarian politician of the FDP .
Personal and professional
Meyer is a specialist teacher for music and works. She is married and worked as a civil servant in a secondary school until the birth of her second child. After giving birth, she gave up her status as a civil servant for life in favor of raising children.
Public offices
From 1990 to 2009 she was a member of the district council of Aichach-Friedberg and gave up the office when it was no longer compatible with the state parliament mandate. From 1996 to 2008 Ms. Meyer was the full-time mayor of Merching and thus the first and to this day also the only woman in a mayor's office in the Aichach-Friedberg district .
In the state elections on September 28, 2008, she entered the Bavarian state parliament via the party list in the Schwaben constituency . She chaired the Committee on Social Affairs, Family and Labor , and was the first woman to hold this position.
Brigitte Meyer did not run again in the state election in Bavaria in 2013 and left the state parliament.
Brigitte Meyer has been Vice President of the Bavarian Red Cross since December 2013.
