Port Howard (Spanish: Puerto Miter ) is the capital of the second most important main island, West Falkland, which belongs to the Falkland Islands .

The port is located in the east of the island on the Falklandsund opposite the main island of East Falkland and has its own runway next to the port. In 2012 Port Howard had 22 residents. The place is in the center of an 810 km² sheep farm. Most of the twenty inhabitants make a living from the service industry as well as fishing and sheep breeding (42,000).

Every three years, Port Howard hosts the West Falkland Sports, which celebrate the end of the sheep shearing season.

In 1982 Argentina occupied the islands, which triggered the Falklands War . At Many Branch Point , a ridge near Port Howards, there was a single, brief battle taking place in West Falkland, in which the British captain of the SAS , Gavin John Hamilton, was killed.
