Port sound
Port Klang , also Port Kelang , Malay Pelabuhan Klang , until 1972 Port Swettenham , is a small town and the largest seaport in Malaysia . Port Klang is located on the Strait of Malacca near the city of Klang in the Klang district , which is part of the state of Selangor .

The seaport has existed since 1901 and has been the largest in the country ever since. It has been administered since July 1, 1963 by the Port Klang Authority (an authority) which also operates the other three ports in the district (North Port, South Port and West Port). In the district there was first the South Port, which until then was under the Malayan Railway Administration.
The West Port and North Port are currently in the process of being privatized. West Port is managed by Kelang Multi Terminal (KMT) and the North Port is managed by Northport Malaysia. In terms of sales, the port ranks 13th worldwide.
