Coordinates: 34 ° 43 ′  S , 135 ° 51 ′  E The City of Port Lincoln is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 25 km² and has about 14,000 inhabitants (2016).

Port Lincoln is located at the southern end of the Eyre Peninsula on the Spencer Gulf about 250 kilometers west of the metropolis of Adelaide as the crow flies . The area includes eight hamlets and hamlets: Boston Bay, Happy Valley, Kirton Point, Lincoln Cove, Lincoln Gardens, Port Lincoln , Porter Bay and Rustlers Gully. The council is headquartered in the city of Port Lincoln to the north of the LGA.

The Port Lincoln City Council has eleven members, the ten councilors and the chairman and mayor of the council are elected by the residents of the LGA. Port Lincoln is not divided into districts.
