Scheme of the Irish portal Tombarten

The small, compact portal Tomb by Annaghmore is located in a small enclosure next to the road in the townland Annaghmore ( Irish Eanach Mór ), southeast of Mohill in the extreme south of County Leitrim in Ireland . In the British Isles, portal tombs are megalithic systems in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is covered with a sometimes huge capstone.

The well-preserved, picturesque Tomb portal has two 1.6 m and 1.3 m high portal stones, two side stones, an inclined broken end stone and a 2.2 × 2.1 m, heavily weathered cap stone 0.5 m thick. The rectangular chamber measures 2.5 × 1.2 m and is 1.55 m high.

To the west of Mohill is the Tomb by Cloonfinnan.
