Portal Tomb by Prebaun
The collapsed portal Tomb von Prebaun lies on the moor southeast of Prebaun ( Irish An Preabán ; German "the patch" ) at the southwestern end of the Ox Mountains , overlooking the valley of the Yellow River, a small tributary of the Moy ( An Mhuaidh - German "River of Victory" ) near the Foxford Way ( Bealach Bhéal Easa ) northeast of Foxford ( Béal Easa ; German "mouth of the waterfall" ) in County Mayo in Ireland . In the British Isles, portal tombs are megalithic systems in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is covered with a sometimes huge capstone.
The north-west-south-east oriented portal Tomb consists of a 3.9 m long, 2.2 m wide and 0.3 m thick capstone that rests on the fallen side stones and the stump of a portal stone. The complete, 2.3 m long and the broken 1.6 m long portal stone are on the southwest and northeast side, next to the capstone.
A possible court tomb is 300 m northeast.
