The Röhm portal building is a cultural monument in Darmstadt .
Architecture and history
The portal building was built in 1916 according to plans by the architect Karl Klee as an extension of the Röhm und Haas chemical factory .
The gate-like structure with two elongated, two-storey side wings is a modern, simple administration building with final echoes of Art Nouveau , especially in the upper section of the facade of the gatehouse .
