Portrait (literature)
In literature, portrait refers to the literary representation of a person, a landscape or an object as a small category or genre . The expression is based on the portrait of the visual arts, which tries to express the essence or personality of a person: A literary portrait often gives a deep insight and offers a differentiated and comprehensive representation. Important literary portraitists include a. Elias Canetti , Stefan Zweig or WG Sebald .
