Post test station
The Postprüfplatz ( PPrPl ) in analog local switching centers for quality assurance of subscriber drops and - terminals (v a.. Telephone sets ) are used. After completing his work, the installer called the technician at the operator station of the PPrPl to have him confirm that the system was functioning correctly.
tasks
- Determination of line impedance and loop resistance
- Insulation resistance when the receiver is on-hook
- Pulse timing of the number switch
- Function of the alarm clock
automation
In the 1960s, the PPrPl was replaced by the unmanned automatic post test station ( APPrPl ) , which automatically transmitted the results of the individual tests to the installer by means of audible tones . Due to the risk of misuse of the bell function test, the APPrPl's dialing numbers were confidential, differed from exchange to exchange and were changed frequently.
