As early thelarche or premature thelarche an occurring in children (less than eight years) growth refers to one or both mammary glands . The swelling can make the breast slightly tender. Breast formation usually ends in Tanner stage B2–3. In this clinical picture, by definition, further signs of estrogenization are missing and skeletal maturity is not accelerated. Gonadotropins and estradiol are in the normal range. Premature thelarche does not need to be treated.
