Presidential election in Guinea 1993
The 1993 presidential election in Guinea took place on December 19, 1993. After the introduction of a multi-party system the year before, the election took place with several candidates for the first time since the country's independence.
Incumbent Lansana Conté was confirmed as a candidate for the Parti de l'Unité et du Progrès (PUP) party with 51.7% in the first ballot for a further five years. The elections were overshadowed by numerous allegations of manipulation.
