Prabodh Chandra Bagchi (born 1898 ; died 1956 ) was an Indian Indologist , linguist, and sinologist .

The translators and translations of the Buddhist canon in China and the early contacts between the two countries formed a focus of his research .

He was Director of Research Studies at Visva-Bharati University in Shantiniketan .
