This is a list of the hospitals and other medical facilities in the West African state of Gambia .
The health system in Gambia is structured on three levels. The primary health care is provided by around 200 mobile / trekking clinics. Smaller and larger polyclinics , private clinics and other NGOs represent the secondary level. The tertiary area is formed by the five main hospitals, the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (formerly Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, RVTH) in the capital Banjul being the most important is, and a research clinic.
