Bwiam is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, there are around 4,163 inhabitants, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 1,851.

geography

Bwiam is located in the West Coast Region , Foni Kansala District , approximately 62 kilometers east of Brikama and approximately 28 kilometers west of Kalagi . The city is located on the South Bank Road and benefits from long-distance traffic on the main trunk road in Gambia. To Kanilai , the birthplace of former President Yahya Jammeh , it is only about ten kilometers to the southeast.

Culture and sights

Between Bwiam and Bondali , a sacred tree is known as a place of worship under the name Kanjendi .
