Precambrian Research is an English-language journal with peer review in the field of geology .
publication
Precambrian Research has existed since 1974 and is published by Elsevier . The editors-in-chief are Randall R. Parrish ( NERC Isotope Geosciences Laboratory ) and Guochun Zhao ( University of Hong Kong ).
Goal setting
The aim of Precambrian Research is to publish scientific works on the early development of the Earth ( Precambrian ) and its planetary neighbors - taking into account their composition, structure and development over time. Among other things, the following are treated:
- Chemical, biological, biochemical and cosmochemical development; the origin of life ; the evolution of the seas and the atmosphere; the early fossil record ; Paleobiology
- Geochronology and Geochemistry (Elements and Isotopes)
- Deposits of the Precambrian
- Geophysical aspects of the early Earth and Precambrian Terrans
- Nature and development of the Precambrian lithosphere and underlying mantle rocks including sedimentary, metamorphic and tectonic processes.
Further focal points are process-oriented investigations based on a combination of the aforementioned aspects as well as comparative studies, the effects of the Precambrian evolution on geological processes of the Phanerozoic as a topic.
Impact Factor
According to the Journal Citation Reports , Precambrian Research had an Impact Factor of 5,664 in 2014 .
