Rosa Tschudi

Rosa Tschudi , née d'Agostini (born April 21, 1924 - October 17, 2015 ) was a Swiss cook.

Life

From 1968 to 1981, Rosa Tschudi managed the “Krone” hotel in Gottlieben , then the “Bären” in Nürensdorf and a restaurant named after her in Gockhausen . In 1995 she took over the “Gian Grossi” restaurant in Zurich and ran it until she retired in 1997.

Tschudi was honored with a Michelin star for her work in both the Tschudi restaurant and the Gian Grossi restaurant . As a guest cook, she has always worked in international kitchens. Her specialties included “down-to-earth fare at the highest level” such as fish-chickpea in beer batter or rind stomach , which earned her the reputation of the “grande dame of Swiss cuisine”.
