Predictive Energy Control

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Predictive Energy Control, also known as predictive energy management, is a possible component of an advanced energy management system for hybrid cars , i.e. for vehicles that have an internal combustion engine and an electric motor . Such vehicles have the possibility the electric motor during braking processes as a generator to use and so kinetic energy initially in electrical energy to convert into a battery to store for later for re- acceleration to use ( recuperation ).

The Predictive Energy Control primarily uses the exact knowledge of a planned route and the information stored on these routes, especially altitude profiles and speed restrictions, in order to optimally use the speed profile, the acceleration and deceleration requirements for energy use, energy mix and energy recovery. The research of T. van Keulen, B. de Jager, A. Serrarens and M. Steinbuch for trucks in 2009 was fundamental for this technology .

In addition (area: Predictive Cruise Control , predictive speed control), the Predictive Energy Control can also be coupled with a vehicle radar, with the aim of using the braking process of the own vehicle as optimally as possible for recuperation when braking the vehicle in front, better than the driver without Assistance system could.

Such systems are installed in the area of cars, for example. B. in the Audi Q7 e-tron and in the Kia Niro .
