Preservation and Long-term Access through Networked Services

Preservation and Long-term Access through Networked Services , or PLANETS for short, was a project funded by the European Union for four years to develop services and tools that support the long-term archiving of digital information . The project ran from 2006 to 2010.

financing

The total budget was € 14 million. Of these, 8.6 million came from the EU's Sixth Framework Program .

Project partner

The PLANETS project brought together the unique experiences needed to research, develop, deliver and produce practical digital maintenance solutions. The consortium included European national libraries and archives, universities and technology companies.
