List of Presiding Bishops of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America
The Presiding Bishop is a primate of the Episcopal Church in the USA . With the exception of the first Presiding Bishop, William White , the longest serving bishop in the Church was also Presiding Bishop until 1926 . Since then, he has been elected through an electoral process in which all bishops can participate. In the meantime, the term of office has been set at nine years.
