Presidio (AMD)

Presidio is a hardware feature of the Socket AM2 - processors of the manufacturer AMD . With it, the basis for the implementation of Trusted Computing is provided in the processor through special commands . It can be found among other things in the processors of the Athlon 64 X2 and Opteron families . The technology from Presidio will provide a secure virtualization level in conjunction with AMD-V .

The main competitor Intel developed security functions as a counterpart, which are summarized under the term Trusted Execution Technology (formerly LaGrande).
