Zhabei

Zhabei ( Chinese 闸北区 , Pinyin Zháběi Qū ) is one of ten inner city districts of the government-direct city of Shanghai in the People's Republic of China .

Zhabei has an area of 29.26 square kilometers and 707,869 inhabitants (2003). The population density is 24,192 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Administrative structure

At the community level, Zhabei is made up of eight street districts and one large community . These are:

Tianmu Xilu Street (天目西路街道), the seat of government in the city district;

Quarter Road Baoshan Lu (宝山路街道);

Beizhan Street District (北站街道);

Street District Daning Lu (大宁路街道);

Road quarter Gonghe Xinluhai (共和新路街道);

Linfen Lu street district (临汾路街道);

Road quarter Pengpu Xincun (彭浦新村街道);

Road quarter Zhijiang Xilu (芷江西路街道);

Greater community Pengpu (彭浦镇).
