Baoshan ( Chinese  宝山 区 , Pinyin Bǎoshān Qū ) is a municipality in the Chinese government-direct city of Shanghai . It has 854,340 inhabitants (2003) on an area of ​​415.27 square kilometers. The population density is 2,057 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Baoshan is the northernmost district in Shanghai. It borders the mouth of the Yangtze in the north and is known for its large steel mill. The Huangpu River flows into the Yangtze to the east of the city of Baoshan .

In 1988, Baoshan was transformed from a county into today's municipality.

Administrative structure

At the community level, Baoshan consists of three street districts and nine large communities . These are:

Youyi Lu (友谊 路 街道) street district, seat of government in the borough;
Road quarter Wusong (吴淞街道);
Road quarter Zhangmiao (张庙街道);
Dachang Municipality (大 场 镇);
Greater community Gaojing (高境镇);
Greater community Gucun (顾村镇);
Greater community Luodian (罗店镇);
Greater community Luojing (罗泾镇);
Greater community Miaohang (庙行镇);
Greater community Songnan (淞南镇);
Greater community Yanghang (杨行镇);
Greater community Yuepu (月浦镇).
