Minhang

Minhang (闵行区Mǐnháng Qū ) is a Chinese municipality in the government-immediate city of Shanghai .

It has 751,154 inhabitants (2003) on an area of 371.68 square kilometers. The population density is 2,021 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The southwesternmost station on Line 1 of the Shanghai Subway is in the Xinzhuang community .

In 1992, Minhang was transformed from a district into the current city district.

Administrative structure

At the community level, Minhang is made up of three street districts and nine large communities . These are:

Greater community Xinzhuang (莘庄镇), Government seat of the district;

Gumei Street District (古美街道);

Street District Jiangchuan Lu (江川路街道);

Xinhong Street (新虹街道);

Greater community Hongqiao (虹桥镇);

Greater community Huacao (华漕镇);

Greater community Maqiao (马桥镇);

Greater community Meilong (梅陇镇);

Greater community pujiang (浦江镇);

Greater community Qibao (七宝镇);

Greater community Wujing (吴泾镇);

Greater community Zhuanqiao (颛桥镇).
