Stefan Pauluhn (born November 7, 1962 in Brebach-Fechingen ) is a German politician and a member of the SPD . He is a member of the Saarland Landtag and was parliamentary group leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the Saarland Landtag from 2012 to 2019 .

education and profession

Pauluhn completed his secondary education in 1979 and then completed an apprenticeship as a telecommunications technician at the telecommunications office in Saarbrücken . This was followed by a career test for civil servants in the middle telecommunications service specializing in transmission technology and radio at the Deutsche Bundespost, later Deutsche Telekom AG, Saarbrücken and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse branch.

Political party

Pauluhn has been a member of the SPD since 1983. From 1985 to 1998 he was chairman of the local SPD association Walsheim (Gersheim) and from 1989 to 2001 chairman of the SPD community association in Gersheim . From 1990 to 2000 he was chairman of the Gersheim SPD council group. Since 1994 he has been the mayor of Walsheim (Gersheim) and since 2000 chairman of the SPD district association Saar-Palatinate . In 1999 he became a member of the Saarland state parliament , in which he is currently the parliamentary manager of the SPD state parliamentary group and group spokesman for tourism. He was also a member of the committees for home affairs, data protection, family, women and sport, economy, work and mine safety.

From March 2012 to September 18, 2019 he was parliamentary group leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the Saarland state parliament.
