Karl Etienne

Karl Etienne (born February 12, 1895 in Neunkirchen (Saar) ; † April 28, 1962 ) was a German politician in Saarland ( SPS and SPD ).

Life

Karl Etienne was a member of the SPD at the time of the Weimar Republic and belonged to the Neunkirchen city ​​council , at times as parliamentary group leader. In the time of National Socialism he lost his job in the city administration.

After the Second World War, Etienne was elected to the first Saarland state parliament for the Neunkirchen constituency and was parliamentary leader of his party from 1947 to 1951. He resigned from the SPS in 1952 in the dispute over the reintegration of the Saarland into Germany.
