Press distribution

Under press distribution means the distribution of newspapers including advertising, sale and delivery. The form of press distribution in Germany is intended to guarantee the freedom and variety of the press derived from Article 5 of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany . This has resulted in special features in the distribution of press products.

Retail sales are mainly handled via the press wholesaler. With a market share of around 54 percent, this is the dominant distribution channel in press sales. More detailed descriptions of the individual sales channels can be found under the individual terms.
