Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is hairy whitish-woolly. The young leaves are initially hairy and yellowish in color.
  • The medium-sized leaves are three-lobed or only slightly five-lobed. The stalk bay is closed lyren-shaped. The sheet is serrated to a point. The teeth are small and tight compared to the grape varieties.
  • The medium to large grape is conical, shouldered and dense berries. The round berries are medium-sized and bluish-black in color. The berry skin is of medium thickness.

Preto Martinho ripens only a few days after the Gutedel variety and is therefore considered to ripen very early in an international comparison.
