Pretty Ricky

Pretty Ricky is an American R&B / hip hop band from Miami . It originally consisted of three brothers, Corey "Slick'em" Mathis, Diamond Blue "Baby Blue" Smith and "Spectacular" Blue Smith, who appear as rappers, and singer Marcus "Pleasure" Cooper.

As early as 1997 the three were on the road as a boys band called "Maverix" under the leadership of their father Joseph "Bluestar" Smith and had their first successes in Florida. With a record deal with Atlantic Records and the change to the band name "Pretty Ricky" and supplemented by the Miami singer Marcus Cooper, they started a nationwide career at the end of 2004. Their first single, Grind with Me , was released in April 2005 and was an instant top 10 hit on the Billboard charts. The following album, Bluestars, was also a huge hit, selling over 800,000 copies, although it received rather mediocre reviews. They were also able to gain a foothold in Great Britain with their debut. The second prank followed in early 2007 and this time the second album Late Night Special jumped straight to number 1 on the Billboard 200 . And the single On the Hotline also reached higher chart regions again. At the same time, her career was further expanded internationally and in spring 2007 Pretty Ricky also started on the German-speaking music market. Shortly afterwards there was a break in the band. Cooper started a solo career under the stage name Pleasure P , he was replaced by Christopher Myers alias 4Play.
