Nordstrasse in the Prussian Quarter

The Prussian Quarter is a villa complex on the right bank of the Elbe in the Radeberger Vorstadt district of Dresden . It lies between the Äußere Neustadt and the Prießnitz in the west and the Waldschlößchenstraße (border to the Waldschlösschenviertel ) in the east. Bautzner Strasse runs through the quarter .

From the year 1861 the area was developed by roads and built up until 1890/1900 according to plan in open construction with park-like gardens and “noble style” villas and country houses. These show stylistic features of the Semper Nicolai School . The name of the district is possibly derived from the architectural forms adopted and used in the Berlin / Potsdam area . The district remained undamaged during the air raids on Dresden in World War II.
