Wanlo priest tomb
The priest 's grave is located in the Wanlo district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) on the cemetery, Hochstrasse.
The tomb was laid out at the end of the 19th century. It was entered under No. H 093 on August 18, 1994 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

The priest's burial place is in the old part of the Wanlo cemetery opposite the cemetery chapel . Diagonally across from the mortuary there is a priest's grave, which is partially enclosed by an approx. 1.2 m high wrought iron railing. It comprises three individual graves, the grave monuments of which are clearly different from each other. In the middle stands the sculpture of the Good Shepherd on a high basalt slag base with an integrated marble top . The inscription on the marble slab is weathered and only partially decipherable. It is:
Here the mortal shell rests / d. high Mr. / Hermann Jos. Jansen / born at Doveren March 14, 1815 / z. Priest ordained a. May 31, 1839 / Pastor z. Wanlo / since April 20, 1869 / died a. Apr. 27, 1891 / RIP
On the far left is a small grave monument for Adolf Plönnies. The integrated plate shows the text:
'Chalice'
Here rests / the high Lord / Adolf Plönnies / Pastor of Wanlo / born. January 23, 1842 / d. May 4, 1908
On the right outside an inclined grave slab with the inscription:
Mrs. Plönnies rests here in 1819 + 1908
