Prijezda II. Kotromanić

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prijezda II. Kotromanić († around 1290 ) ruled as Ban of Bosnia , together with his brother Stjepan I. Kotroman .

Life

He inherited the office of Ban from his father Prijezda I. and ruled together with his brother Stjepan I. Kotroman . In 1290 the brothers received a letter from Pope Nicholas IV in which they are referred to as the Bane of Bosnia. This shows that the two of them were recognized as Bosnian rulers outside their country, especially at the papal court. It seems that Prijezda II died shortly afterwards. His brother Stjepan I. Kotroman took power in Bosnia.
