Prijezda I. Kotromanić (* first half of the 13th century ; † around 1287 ) was a Bosnian banu from approximately 1250 to 1287 as a vassal of the Hungarian kingdom . He was the first known representatives of Kotromanić - dynasty .

Prijezda I was the successor to the Bosnian Ban Matej Ninoslav and most likely his cousin. In 1233 and 1240 he already had the title of Banus, although Matej Ninoslav ruled at that time. He had some possessions in Slavonia and in the Vukovar area . Because of his devotion towards the Catholic Church doped him the Hungarian King Béla IV. The team shank Novaki on the Drava . He was also a vassal of Béla IV . and is mentioned in 1264 as a loyal ally of the king. After the departure of Bela IV ( 1270 ), Prijezda exploited the differences of opinion among the last members of the Árpáden and strengthened his position. Prijezda married his two children to two powerful families: son Stjepana I. Kotroman married Jelisava, the daughter of the Serbian king Stefan Dragutin , in 1284 . The daughter Katarina married the magnate Ladislav Babonić from Slavonia in 1287 . Ladislav Babonić also received the parish of Zemljanik from Prijezda, which according to his own statements his ancestors already owned ( koju su i njegovi pređi posjedovali). His reign was marked by the gradual rise and increasing independence of Bosnia, especially with regard to the relationship with the Croatian-Hungarian kings, whose sovereignty he still recognized as a principle. This independence can be seen in a title of a document from 1287, in which he is referred to as “Bosnian Ban permitted by God” (Božjim dopuštenjem bosanski ban) . He was followed by the sons Prijezda II and Stjepan I. Kotromanić .
