The Prijon GmbH is a German canoe maker.

Products

The company, based in Rosenheim, manufactures whitewater and touring kayaks as well as competition boats, paddles and accessories.

Prijon is the only manufacturer in the world that also builds touring kayaks in HTP-PE. Since the molecular chains are approx. 10 times longer than with rotated PE , they are stiffer and lighter.

The boats are predominantly made of high molecular weight polyethylene , which is sold under the sales name HTP (high-performance thermoplastic ). For many years, Prijon was the only manufacturer in the world to produce boats using the blow molding process, in which melted PE granulate is blown into an aluminum mold at high pressure. Prijon also produces boats made of glass , carbon or aramid fiber reinforced plastic and ABS . In addition, Prijon also manufactures paddles and produces or sells clothing and other accessories for boating.

The company takes their boat hulls back for life for recycling.

In 2013 the company employed 35 people, built 5,000 boats and had a turnover of five million euros.
