Canoe Slalom World Cup
The Canoe Slalom World Cup is a canoe slalom racing series organized by the International Canoe Federation . It has been organized in several kayak and Canadian disciplines for men and women since 1988 . Originally the following four disciplines were represented: single kayak men (K1), single canoe men (C1), two-person canoe men (C2) and single kayak women (K1). One-Canadian for women was introduced in 2010. In 2018, the men's C2 discipline was replaced by mixed C2.
In 2018 an Extreme-K1 race was held for the first time.
In addition to the Canoe Slalom World Cup, there is also a World Cup in canoeing for other disciplines .
Competition format
The Canoe Slalom World Cup consists of a series of canoe slalom races, which are mostly held in the summer months of June, July and August. The athlete or the boat that can collect the most points in the World Cup races in his discipline wins the overall World Cup. The point system and the number of World Cup races have changed several times. Currently (2018) 60 points are credited for winning a World Cup race and 120 points for winning the World Cup final. The points for the placements vary depending on the discipline. In the event of a tie, the World Cup final decides on the final classification.
