action

When high school student Minori Nagashima skips school and spends her time in a mall, a young man she has just met confesses his love. You lose yourself again quickly. But it turns out that 25-year-old Kanata Okazaki has just become the new prime minister. He meant his confession of love seriously and picks up Minori from school. Minori's parents are quickly convinced that he would be a good son-in-law and agree to the connection, so that, despite their protests, Minori quickly moves in with him in the prime minister's estate. There she met Kanata's security chief Ryoichi Makita and the journalist Matsumoto. Both went to high school with Kanata and have accompanied him on his way ever since. Both are very friendly to Minori and want to protect her if Kanata gets too pushy. However, Kanata's first state secretary, Sai, who is only 18 years old, has shown a negative attitude towards her.

Kanata very quickly goes public with his engagement to Minori, so that Minori soon surrenders to her fate. She also notices that her presence gives Kanata pleasure. Your school friends are a bit jealous - after all, the good-looking Kanata is popular and coveted like no other politician. One evening, however, Minori Sai caught secretly kissing Kanata, who had fallen asleep. Sai confesses to her that he is in love with Kanata and hates her because of it. Out of desperation, he runs away and hides with Matsumoto. Kanata and his team try to track him down and hide his disappearance to prevent a political scandal. But then the Kanata hated MP Kamijo turns up, with whom he grew up after his parents and grandfather - also a prime minister - died. Kamijo learns that Sai has disappeared and tries to intrigue against Kanata.

When Minori and Kanata are alone one evening, the drunken Kanata almost falls on them. Afterwards he gets angry about it. But Minori thinks more and more about whether she really feels something for him. Ryoichi had an argument with his wife that night, who believed he was having an affair with the prime minister, but was able to calm her down. Meanwhile, Matsumoto Sai - who also drove Matsumoto's girlfriend out due to a misunderstanding situation - persuades to go back to Kanata. When he returned, however, he witnessed Minori Kanata saying that she wanted to marry him and start a family with him. Shortly afterwards, Sai confronts Kanata, but is rejected and runs away again and to Matsumoto.

Yuigon

In high school, Ryoichi is repeatedly sexually harassed by classmates because of his appearance. He is secretly having an affair with the school doctor. After he knocked down the notorious truant Kanata Kamijo when he hit someone else, Ryoichi is supposed to make sure that Kanata always comes to school on time. Over time, he even enjoys this task and he gets to know Kanata a little. Finally he learns that Kanata avoids school and his home because he is abused by his foster father. Since Ryoichi has had similar experiences, he helps Kanata move into the dormitory. Both become close friends, Ryoichi is even secretly in love with Kanata, but does not want to burden him because of his negative experiences, but rather supports him with his friendship.

Shinseiki lovers

Former First Secretary of State to Prime Minister Kanata Okazaki, Sai, has been living with political journalist Matsumoto for quite a while. He had confessed his love to him, but he is afraid to enter into a real relationship. Matsumoto is afraid of the reaction of those around him and simply cannot imagine a relationship with another man. When he asks Sai to leave him, when he receives an offer from MP Kamijo to go to a university in the USA, Sai disappears without a trace. With Ryoichi's help, Matsumoto is finally able to track down a gay bar where Sai is working to pay for a sex reassignment and then marry his lover as a woman. Matsumoto explains to him that this is not necessary and that he wants a relationship with him as he is now.

publication

The manga was first published in Japan from January 28, 1998 (3/1998 issue) to January 28, 2001 (3/2001 issue) in Wings magazine by Shinshokan , who published the story in four edited volumes from September 1998 to May 2001. These contain additional chapters, comic strips and commentaries. The series is the illustrator's first multi-volume story. The publication of the second volume was delayed from April 1999 to August 1999 because the artist was busy with other series. The story later reappeared in the form of two bunkobons . Released in December 2002, Yuigon by Eiki Eiki contains two stories, Yuigon and Shinseiki Lovers . The first story had already been drafted by Prime Minister as an additional chapter to the second volume , but could not be completed and was then initially postponed. When Eiki Eiki finally started to implement the story and the other idea for the love story of Sais and Matsumoto, it took another year and eight months before the band was finished. Before publication, 40 pages had to be deleted, otherwise the story would have become too long.

From June 2007 to February 2008, all four volumes were published in German by Egmont Manga and Anime . The publishing house published a translation by Yuigon in September 2006 . Digital Manga Publishing brought out an English translation.
