Ischemia ) of the heart muscle ( Myocards ) caused by a spasm ( vasospasm ) in one or more of the coronary arteries .

The duration of such a violent heartache is between seconds and minutes. It occurs regardless of stress, especially in the early morning hours. The worst consequence of prolonged ischemia can be a heart attack .

Reversible ST elevations in the ECG in the absence of an increase in troponin and CK are diagnostic . The treatment is carried out with nitrates and calcium antagonists . Beta blockers are contraindicated . The disease manifests itself mainly in the 3rd to 4th Decade of life. Above all, heavy smokers and, as in the angina pectoris vasomotorica described by Reindell and Klepzig, younger people are at risk (women are just as frequently affected as men).
