The Prinzregent Luitpold Foundation for the promotion of art, applied arts and crafts in Munich was founded in 1891 by the Bavarian Prince Regent Luitpold .

It supports and promotes by awarding scholarships in the field of art, applied arts and crafts in Munich or through purchases. It is administered by the cultural department of the state capital Munich . Project and catalog grants are awarded annually by an expert jury on application .

In 1958, the St. Peter's Church Foundation donated the jubilee bell for the 800th anniversary of the city of Munich.
