The private German-language media of the Luxembourg press publisher Groupe Nicolas consist of a weekly and online newspaper, as well as web radio and TV.
Private newspaper
On November 3, 2006, the first printed edition of the newspaper Lëtzebuerg Privat appeared , the publisher of which is Jean Nicolas, editorial director of the Sachse Sven Günther, former editor-in-chief at Bild-Zeitung and editor-in-chief of Heinz Kerp in Cologne. In December 2006, issue 7 had a circulation of 25,000 and contained 12 pages. Since 2007 the content has always been spread over a minimum of 16 pages. The weekly newspaper's circulation number remained relatively constant and in August 2008, issue 92, was 30,000. According to its own information, the publishing group reaches around 200,000 people with the entire group.
Visually, the tabloid is based on the style of the German Bild or Express newspaper and is a product of the press publishing company Groupe Nicolas , which in addition to Lëtzebuerg Privat also publishes two other magazines, Promi and D'Wäschfra , and the third largest press company in the country according to state-funded publishing groups Saint-Paul Luxembourg and Editpress . Like all German-language tabloids, the Lëtzebuerg Privat logo is white font in a red rectangle. The publisher is not a member of the national “Conseil de Presse” and does not work with the “Service d'Information et Presse”. This behavior repeatedly meets with criticism and the journalistic quality is often questioned. Lëtzebuerg Privat started a PR campaign on March 30, 2011, in which the publisher describes the activities of the Public Prosecutor Roby Biever directed against him as actions against freedom of the press, claims the existence of state press censorship in Luxembourg and calls for solidarity with the publisher.
Web newspaper, radio and TV
The associated online newspaper LuxPrivat.lu was launched on January 4, 2010 . In February 2011, Privat-TV published the newspaper's first video report. These online videos are produced in collaboration with the Luxembourg television company Simba Pro .
On March 1, 2011 the web radio Radio-Privat went on air. It broadcasts on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to music, Luxembourg news, interviews, debates and reports are broadcast. The daily 10 o'clock debate with the publisher and editors-in-chief can also be accessed as a podcast.
