Private practice

Private practices are run by resident doctors , dentists , psychotherapists or physiotherapists who do not have a contract with statutory health insurance insurers (GKV), i.e. no health insurance provider . The services of these practices are therefore only reimbursed by the statutory health insurance companies in exceptional cases (e.g. unavoidable emergencies). Since private doctors, private psychotherapists and private dentists do not have any health insurance contracts, only the doctor-patient relationship, the professional regulations of the medical associations , psychotherapists ' chambers or dentists' associations and in Germany the regulations of the fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ), the fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP) and . fees for Dentists (GOZ) determining.

Private practices are common in areas with a high density of doctors or psychotherapists, where admission restrictions apply. Until the abolition of the age limit of 68 years for contract doctors , psychotherapists and dentists in 2008, driving was to continue private practice for doctors, dentists and psychotherapists an opportunity to present their activities. Naturopaths cannot obtain health insurance approval and are therefore always established in private practices.
