The prix des lycéens autrichiens was an Austrian youth literature award.

The prix des lycéens autrichiens was a project of the cultural department of the French embassy with the Austrian school authorities. The aim was to familiarize high school students with the latest French-language literature for young people and thus to underline the quality of French teaching at Austrian schools. The project partners were the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture , the LITERA book fair, the öbv ( Austrian Federal Publishing House ) and the Bureau du Livre de Jeunesse .

The prize was donated in analogy to the Prix des lycéens allemands and awarded at the LITERA book fair in Linz .

After the 8th edition of the prix des lycéens autrichiens 2016, the French cultural institute started a new literary competition in cooperation with the publishing house Ernst Klett Sprachen . The award got a new face and became a review competition, the Prix de la critique littéraire des lycéens autrichiens . It is intended to offer the participating students the opportunity to get to know a contemporary French author and his literary work and to be introduced to the art of review.
