ProMarkt Handels GmbH (short form: ProMarkt) was a retail chain of the Foto-Radio-Wegert company based in Berlin .

Until 2003

Under this name, the Wegert Group operated consumer electronics stores in northern, eastern and southern Germany until 2003. In western Germany ( North Rhine-Westphalia , Rhineland-Palatinate , Saarland ) the retail chain appeared under the name MakroMarkt , because the name ProMarkt was used by the Rewe subsidiary of the same name, ProMarkt .

In order to standardize the appearance in Germany, the decision was made in 2003, after the Wegert Group had been split up, to only appear as a macro-market nationwide .

Since 2008

After the insolvency and the dissolution of the franchise agreements of MediMax stores (successor company of MakroMarkt ), 15 stores operated under promarkt.de from September 2008 .

insolvency

The naming rights for the stationary trade under ProMarkt were sold at the end of 2009, in the course of the insolvency of promarkt.de , to the REWE subsidiary REWE Unterhaltungselektronik GmbH, operator of ProMarkets.

The online shop promarkt.de was operated by Promarkt Online GmbH in Berlin, a 100% subsidiary of Promarkt Handels GmbH . Between March 1, 2010 and July 3, 2014, the domain www.promarkt.de belonged to REWE Unterhaltungselektronik GmbH. The domain has belonged to ElectronicPartner GmbH since July 4, 2014 and is redirected to www.medimax.de .
