Trial morning

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trial morning is an old term from forestry that has been used since at least 1777 .

meaning

The test morning is a construct to determine the wood stock of forest areas . In order to approximately determine the existence of a forest, a certain area (usually one morning , around 2500 to 3500 square meters ; hence the term ` ` sample tomorrow '' ) was staked out and the wood population on this part of the area was determined. The result was then extrapolated to the total area.

However, since most of the forest areas were not continuously overgrown, this type of inventory calculation only gave an approximately accurate result. To reduce this error, several test mornings were sometimes set out in a forest to compensate for fluctuations in the vegetation density.
