The Professional Windsurfers Association ( PWA ) is a windsurfing association that has held the Windsurf World Cup under the name PWA Worldtour since 1996 .

The PWA sets the rules for the regattas and provides the referees. The current head judge is Duncan Coombs. Manufacturers must register material with the PWA in order for it to be admitted to racing. It checks the requirements for a World Cup and then awards the World Cup status to the organizers of individual regattas. She leads the annual rankings. She delegates some of her tasks to specialized agencies.

In addition to hosting the world championship, its function is to make the sport popular, among other things by marketing the world cups. In addition to the drivers, members are also manufacturers, organizers and sponsors. Currently, Jimmy Diaz, an active World Cup rider, is President of the PWA and Phil McGain, a former World Cup rider, is Vice President.

The PWA was founded as the successor organization to the Professional Boardsailors Association (PBA). The PBA had to be liquidated in 1995 due to over-indebtedness.

Since March 2011, Ben Proffitt has been a regular commentator on the live broadcasts of the PWA.
