Stefan Rieckhoff

Stefan Rieckhoff (born August 28, 1968 in Oldenburg ) is a German stage and costume designer.

Life

Rieckhoff studied painting at the Free Art School in Stuttgart. After studying stage design at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Karl Kneidl from 1989 to 1993, he was assistant to Peter Zadek , Wilfried Minks , Johannes Grützke , Wolfgang Gussmann and Willy Decker .

Since 1990 Rieckhoff engagements as a stage and costume designer at the theaters in Oberhausen , Gießen, Bern, Oldenburg, Heidelberg, Saarbrücken, as well as the Théatre des Capucins Luxembourg, Berliner Ensemble , National Theater Prague , Volksoper Wien , Landestheater Linz , Oper Halle and to the Bregenz Festival, where he worked with Liz King, Kathrin Prick, Michael Sturm, Helmut Polixa and Nicholas Muni.

From 2004 to 2009, Stefan Rieckhoff was head of equipment at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, where, in addition to the Verdi-Schiller cycle and a Mozart cycle, he realized equipment for Johannes Felsenstein's productions . He also designed the sets and costumes for the festival productions “Street Scene” and “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” for the international Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau.

Rieckhoff was nominated by Opernwelt 2004 for “Fedora” and Die Deutsche Bühne 2008 for “Parsifal” as set designer of the year. In 2006 he received the theater prize from the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung.

In 2008 “Tristan und Isolde” and “Hänsel und Gretel” were released as DVD recordings by Arthaus Musik .
