Arthaus Musik is a label for classical music on DVD and Blu-ray . The company belongs to Studio Halle GmbH and maintains the subsidiary Monarda Arts.

Label

Arthaus Musik GmbH was founded in Munich in March 2000 and has had its headquarters in Halle (Saale) since 2007 . The label has been publishing recordings of operas, ballets, classical concerts, jazz, theater productions and selected documentaries on music and art for thirteen years. With up to 100 publications per year, over 700 titles have appeared on DVD and Blu-ray since then.

The publications include recordings with artists such as Plácido Domingo , Cecilia Bartoli , Luciano Pavarotti , Maria Callas , Jonas Kaufmann , Burkard Schliessmann and conductors such as Carlos Kleiber , Claudio Abbado , Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Lorin Maazel , Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta . The recordings come from opera houses such as La Scala in Milan , the Vienna State Opera , the Royal Opera House Covent Garden , the Opéra National de Paris and the Zurich Opera House .

With its subsidiary Monarda Arts, Arthaus Musik owns a rights library of around 900 productions for DVD, TV and online exploitation. Since 2007, the company has been continuously developing the in-house production sector with the recording of operas, concerts, ballets and the production of art and music documentaries.

Arthaus music DVDs and Blu-ray discs are sold through a distribution network including a. sold in cooperation with Naxos Global Distribution in around 70 countries around the world. In addition, Arthaus Musik publishes and sells the 3sat DVD edition and takes care of the BelAir theater edition and u. a. the book and DVD edition about Pina Bausch by L'Arche Editeur , winner of the Prix de l'Académie de Berlin 2010.
