Profile rail guide
A profile rail guide is a linear guide that is used in mechanical engineering . These rail guides generally have one or more guide carriages on a guide rail , which has one or more raceways for rolling elements that rotate to the right and left of the rail in the guide carriage.
The profile rail guides belonging to the rail guides are a further development of the so-called shaft guides , in which a corresponding ball circulation is implemented in the linear ball bearing .
Profile rail guides are generally roller guides that can be designed with balls or rollers as rolling elements and possibly use a rolling element cage (sometimes also called ball or roller chain). This prevents contact between the individual rolling elements and thereby reduces wear, vibrations and noise, but u. U. also the load rating of the guide system, because the cage may reduce the number of rolling elements bearing the load .
Another type of profile rail guide can be found in the electric monorail system and in the rail conveyor system ( Telelift system ). In contrast to the precise roller guide, the rail guide in these conveyor systems is designed with greater tolerances between the guide rail and the guide carriage in order to enable cornering and curve travel. The vehicles on electric monorail systems and rail conveyor systems are equipped with their own electric drive. The profile rails for rail conveyor systems are not standardized.

In the list of DIN standards, the DIN 636 and DIN 644 standards include linear roller bearings, including, according to the DIN definition, not only the linear ball bearings already mentioned, but also
