Communist Party of the Soviet Union program
The Program of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was the main document of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) setting out the strategic plans for the domestic and foreign policy of the party and the entire Soviet Union . At the times when the party was known by a different name, the program was named accordingly, e.g. B. the program of the Communist Party of Russia (Bolsheviks) etc.
First program
The first program was adopted in 1903 (the 1903 program of the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party) with the main aim of abolishing tsarism and transferring power to the working class.
Second program
The second program was adopted after the October 1917 Revolution with the main aim of building socialist society in Russia ( adopted at the 8th Congress in 1919 ).
Third program
The third program was adopted in 1961 at the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union with the ambitious goal of building communism in 20 years. According to the draft program,
"The communist society in the Soviet Union had been built up by 1980, by then there was an abundance of material goods, labor productivity was twice that of the USA, and working hours were still 30 to 36 hours."
The historian Archie Brown wrote that the program would be the last authoritative document produced by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to take entirely seriously the building of a communist society ("the last authoritative document of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on the building of a communist society takes it seriously ").
Last version
The last version of the program was adopted in 1986 at the 27th Congress of the CPSU . In contrast to previous programs, the 1986 version was the revised 1961 version.
